Why do you call yourself DJ Services Cornwall?

We offer much more than just a DJ Service we offer a range of additional services which include; photography, lighting, music videos, love letters and animated laser shows. However, make no mistake that our music and its quality is paramount hence why we only use the highest quality Pioneer, RCF and QSC equipment to ensure you and your guests receive unrivalled audio experience.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

We insist on a £100 deposit it’s a two-way thing firstly you know you have secured our services and that the date is firmly in the diary as we receive enquiries daily and it’s not unusual for more than one client to be enquiring about the same date. Needless to say will undoubtedly be turning potential clients away and for that reason, your deposit is non-refundable, if for whatever reason you decided to cancel.

When do I pay the outstanding balance?

The outstanding balance can be paid at any time, either a lump sum or through an arranged payment scheme, however, full payment must be received before  the day of the event before we commence setup. Sorting money out on a wedding day is never a good thing.

Will you be the DJ at our wedding?

Sometimes the person you speak with and arrange your day is not always the person who will be your wedding DJ on your wedding day. We believe that it is absolutely paramount that you have a good rapport and relationship with the DJ who will be entertaining you and your guests and for that reason, so it is myself who will be playing on your big day.

May we meet with you in person before our wedding?

Many DJs attempt to conduct their interviews strictly by phone or through email instead of meeting face to face with prospective clients. In our experience there are only 2 reasons why a DJ would do this- either they don’t feel you are worth their time, or they have something to hide, For this reason, we highly encourage meeting face to face to build that important relationship.

How long will you hold the date for us?

Once you inquire with us, we will gladly hold your date for you for a reasonable amount of time to give you some time to think it through. However, please bear in mind we do on occasions have more than one couple enquiring about a set date. We will never use pressuring sales tactics however if you would like us to inform you if we have had another client enquiring about the same date we are happy to do so.

How long have you been a DJ and how many weddings have you done?

A wedding is such an important occasion, and you don’t want your Djs first wedding to be your own. We have over a decade of events under our belt and weddings are one of our favourite events, so we have done hundreds.

How many weddings do you do each year?

Are you worried about us being “at the top of our game” by the time your wedding dates arrives? Don’t worry! We don’t have an exact number of weddings we do each year, but typically have 1 – 2 weddings booked most weekends. Want to hear about how they turned out? Check out our testimonials page!

How many other types of events, do you do each year?

We don’t just dj weddings. We do everything from school functions, corporate events, conferences, anniversaries, birthday parties, welcome home parties, and just parties! There’s virtually no limit to the type of event that we can do! Curious? Contact us today and ask!

Do you perform more than one event per day?

In a word no, we want to ensure we have time to complete all the necessary preparation and time to ensure your day goes like clockwork, being an ex-military man attention to detail is very important to us. Also we pride ourselves in delivering a personal service so it is myself who would be delivering your party or occasion.

What makes you different from the competitors?

We are a full-time professional mobile and wedding DJ business who genuinely takes great pride and thoroughly enjoy all that we deliver. We look at all our events from a production aspect, the music choice, our professional lighting and laser show to ensure we create the right atmosphere and ambience for any occasion, attention to detail is our forte. We go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy with every aspect, from the planning process, down to the night of the event. We are completely mobile and truly cater to you and your guests. Have you played at our reception site before?

A wedding experience is important, and so is familiarity with your reception site. Every site poses different challenges, different load in and security procedures, different room sizes and configurations, different acoustics, even antiquated electric outlets that need to be grounded manually. We are proud to say we are familiar with many venues in Cornwall. Enjoy peace of mind knowing that you won’t have any surprises on your wedding day. In the rare instance that we have not visited your venue before, we can assure you that we will adequately prepare ourselves with the site before your event by visiting the venue and speaking with the site contract and studying a floor plan.

Do you act as “emcee” and make all of the announcements?

This is where we excel, We are very comfortable with making announcements, second nature and serving as the emcee for your wedding, and we believe it is a standard part of the job, Some Djs, however are not comfortable with this and prefer to pass these duties on to someone else, such as a site manager, who may not have a professional voice or experience speaking on a microphone.

How do you define your style when making announcements?

We are very versatile emcees, and we engage with you and your guests to achieve the atmosphere you’re trying to create. If you are planning an elegant, understated wedding having a party motivator or entertainer DJ may not be the most appropriate, if you know your guests will need lots of encouragement to dance then hiring someone who flatly refuses to make announcements probably isn’t the best idea either.

What if something happens to you and you can’t make it to the wedding

Despite meticulous planning and preparation accidents do happen. If your DJ is injured or otherwise unable to perform on your wedding day, we do have additional DJs that can step in as DJ Services Cornwall are part of the Cornwall DJs Association.

Will we meet again before the wedding?

Most certainly if you the client or ourselves deem it necessary to finalise any further aspects.

Can we visit you at a performance?

Probably not. Unless you are invited by the organiser, we’re sure that you wouldn’t appreciate us inviting prospective clients to your wedding to see us in action. We respect our client’s privacy and not offer this as a possibility.

May we speak to your references?

How do you keep your music collection up to date?

There are numerous methods of firstly keeping your music library up to date and also legal. We purchase a good number of tracks on Apple, Beatport, Soundcloud, BPM Supreme and other various DJ pools.

How involved can we be in selecting music for our event?

You can be involved as much, or as little as you like after all music is a very subjective subject, and we would rather have a playlist with meaningful tracks of your choice, which we will build upon, or indeed a list of tracks you don’t wish to hear.

When do we need to submit our music requests and event details?

We will speak with you whenever suits or indeed meet. However, ideally, we would like your track choices to us no later than 3 weeks before your event.

Have you worked in barn or marquee venues?

Yes, we have often worked in these type of venues, at times we can suffer from excess dust depending on the venue. Depending on the size of the marquee or barn may require our full set up has 7k as open spaces and canvas absorbs power and additional resources, these type of venues are not suitable for your general pub DJ set up. These aspects may increase the quote from our standard wedding packages, so always best to check beforehand.

Do you take requests from guests?

Yes, we do, this is something you need to decide if you were happy for this, on occasions we have taken loads of requests from the guests as directed from our clients, only to find our clients asking where are their chosen tracks. If you want your guests to be part of the music selection then sometimes couples ask their guests on their invite to choose a track. Least this way we know we will have the tracks available.

Can we submit a “Do Not Play” list?

Yes, no issues whatsoever and this often happens.

When do you arrive to set up for the wedding?

Depends on the time you wish us to play, or indeed when you would like us set up and ready, whichever the timings be assured being an ex-military man we don’t do late.

What will you wear to our event?

Depends very much on the type of event, there is a need to be comfortable as it can become very hot in our working environment, so sometimes a suit, however, minimum attire will be a jacket with a collared shirt.
