For the St Austell DJ Allan Cross the act of being on the decks is more than just a business – it is a passion. The team behind DJ Services Cornwall, Al and Leon have taken this passion and spun up the Kernow Dance Anthem project to become a feature of the St Austell club night scene.
Local Community Night Outs
The Kernow Dance Anthem concept was born from a simple idea. In Allan’s words:
“We wanted to give something back to our local community and create a proper night out, right on the doorstep. We wanted to bring high-quality music events to St Austell that are affordable, welcoming, and most of all – fun”

The Kernow Dance Anthem concept emerged whereby every month or so Allan and Leon would take to their decks in their local community hang-out – The Heavy Transport Sports & Social Club – a venue that has become their home over the years, to play banging tunes for the pleasure of their local friends and ticket holders.The idea is for pure party energy powered by passion, beats and lasers!
Rolling Party Night schedule
It is a local experience with big event vibes so you should expect banging tunes, dazzling lights and lots and lots of lasers! This event is a pure celebration of music, light and pure party energy right in the heart of St Austell.
The music on the night depends on the schedule and the theme but so far we have enjoyed 90s classics, trance and full-on Clubland. Dates are released via local channels and on the Wedding DJ Cornwall website so either keep an ear to the ground or visit the website to find out. The Kernow Dance Anthem Vibe
At the heart of it all is the desire to create a fun music event so the focus is on the musical themes combined with heavy duty lighting and lasers. Al will take any opportunity to fire up the lasers! Themed nights so far have been:
- 90s and 00s Dance Anthems
- Ibiza Classics
- Drum & Bass and Techno
- Clubland Mayhem
- And yes, for the trance heads – Trance Anthems Nights too!
With each show, the production gets tighter, the lights brighter, and the vibe just keeps growing. This is so much more than a pub disco, it is a full festival style setup with:
- Computer-controlled lighting rigs
- Venue uplighting (inside & out)
- Custom-built sound system
- Upgradable effects for bigger nights
- And of course… those signature laser shows
It’s a level of production you’d expect at a Butlins weekender or a big city club – but instead it’s in the St Austell social club powered by two St Austell Wedding Djs who love what they do.
The Kernow Dance Anthem reputation is growing fast with a loyal crowd of regulars turning up everty time who dance like no one’s watching. Lately more and more faces are coming from out of town to be a part of it and enjoy the nostalgia, the lights, the sound or just a great night out with mates.

Entry prices are heavily subsidised. This isn’t about profits – it’s about making sure everyone can experience a proper night out. For the love of music, for the community, and for that feeling when the bass drops and the room erupts.
Ultimately Al and Leon do it because they want to, because they live and breathe this stuff. They are DJs, lighting techs, event heads – but at the heart of it, just two local lads who love creating unforgettable nights.
