In today’s blog we discuss where we are on the ‘Cost of Wedding DJ’ spectrum and why it matters. When you investigate the price of a service, it’s often hard to identify where a good price meets good quality. Similarly when it comes to the cost of a wedding DJ it’s all down to the individual price point of the business in question and the resources and experience they can offer.
If Only I’d Known…
It’s easy to know retrospectively if you have had a good value service. This is measured based on your satisfaction of the service. But when it comes to hiring a wedding DJ for the biggest day of your life, naturally we want to know before hand whether we are getting a good deal.
Ultimately as long as you are happy with the service and quality you have received, irrespective of the price point, that’s great!
DJ Services Cornwall prides itself in delivering a Premium Wedding & Mobile DJ Service – this means it is personalised, highly professional with the wow factor in spades. As such, this high-quality service is priced accordingly. But we also understand that there is a cheaper end of the spectrum and there needs to be – there is a place and customer for both.
Setting the price point and the cost
We deliver true quality in both audio and lighting because both are essential in building the atmosphere we strive for. From feedback we find lighting has a surprisingly large effect on overall impression and becomes a huge component of the atmosphere for any party celebration.
This can only be achieved with heavy investment in quality equipment, which is costly. We regularly stand behind 30k plus worth of equipment, which I can assure you makes a whopping difference to any party celebration. Plus, when performing in larger venues, we deploy our premium light and audio, which is an extra 10k worth of equipment.
Is cheaper better?
The issue arises when other cheaper DJs claim to offer the same quality service, performance level, and experience at a much lower price, which is as you can imagine an impossible claim.
Sadly these promises almost always lead to disappointment. It’s like comparing a £500 banger with a Rolls Royce; yes, they both transport you, and that’s where the similarity ends. Is it reliable? Does it come with breakdown cover that transports you to your destination or offers you a courtesy car? Does it have a well-built, reliable feel that oozes quality?
Finalising the cost a year ahead
To extend the car analogy further there is the issue of reliability with future bookings. We frequently receive inquiries for weddings years ahead. While it’s always tricky to quote accurately for future events, some DJs deliberately quote cheaply to secure the booking. As time passes, they accept a better-paying wedding. A pattern we see often is two weeks before the booked wedding date they call in sick and are no longer available for the wedding.
We have received many such inquiries from troubled bride and grooms, whose wedding DJ has let them down. This is when you need a well respected wedding supplier who believes in professionalism and integrity.
Cost of Wedding DJ is proportional to Quality of DJ
Overall DJ Services Cornwall are very reasonably priced given the service we offer. If you were to attempt to hire the type of equipment we use, it would cost considerably more to hire than what we charge, and that’s without a DJ who has hundreds of 5-star reviews.
In conclusion there are DJs all across the spectrum of cost and quality. And like cars we can’t expect them to agree on quality of performance, reliability and price. .So please do your homework, research and compare.
